The Mulliner division will be celebrating Bentley's 100th anniversary next year with a Mulsanne special edition. It pays tribute to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley and even includes a portion of one of his cars.
The special model that can be purchased on a long-wheelbase or a regular-wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed is inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. The 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. Its influence can be felt throughout the cabin, including a Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that features an opening window that shows a slice of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre that is displayed inside.
W.O. is emblazoned in an air vent in the shape of a B on the chrome-colored application that runs through the back of the vehicle. The front grille is designed on 1930s-inspired Onyx and there's an optional chrome cladding around the lower spoilers to the left and right. The front grille is also unique, gaining a chrome shell instead of the usual body-color mesh like that of the standard Mulsanne and including the Flying B logo as well.
The key box is embossed with Bentley wings and has the lining of black flock. Key pouches are available to be purchased to match or contrast the key box. The set is also commemorative, and includes a custom 1:18 scale model of the 8 Litre and the paperweight that flies with the letter 'B along with a printed brochure featuring never-before-seen photos of the original 1930s 8 Litre.
The Bentley Wing Key Box
This accessory is perfect for Bentley enthusiasts and owners. It comes with an exclusive key box that is embossed in Bentley wings. This keybox is carefully wrapped in tissue paper within a gift box, it is an ideal gift for birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions.
The metal-to-metal knurling on this key fob mimics textures found in the interior, such as the temperature controls for the seat and the shift knob. Van Braekel says, "We wanted the knurling to look as consistent and beautiful" as possible. "It was also important to ensure the fob had a recognizable size and shape."
Bentley Mulliner customers are able to select any color from the Bentley portfolio, as well as any combination of veneers or hides, and bespoke embroidery. Bentley's signature diamond in diamond quilting is applied to the entire cabin and features around 400000 stitches. The mood lighting can also be adjusted for different moods.
Standard outside are illuminated treadplates and brushed silver clocks and the new 22in wheels that feature self-leveling Bentley logos. Customers can also get their own bespoke Bentley emblem laser-etched on the rear fixing, as an homage to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. Edition that was the inspiration for the car. Bentley's "Speed" series is a hoot, taking the Continental GT's already exaggerated excess and turning it up to eleven.
